FAQ

Is this legally valid in the EU?+

Yes. eSeal produces a PAdES B-T signature with an RFC 3161 trusted timestamp, recognised as a Simple Electronic Signature (SES) under eIDAS Regulation (EU) 910/2014. Valid across all EU member states. For contracts requiring a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES), use a certified QTSP.

Where is my document stored?+

On EU servers only (Hostinger VPS, Lithuania). The PDF is deleted immediately after signing. A signing record (names, emails, timestamp, document hash — no PDF) is retained for audit purposes.

Why is it free?+

The standard signing tier is free — permanently. Adobe and DocuSign charge a fortune for basic contracts; we built eSeal because we didn't want to pay that either. Advanced tiers (AES-level signatures, EUTL certificate) will be paid, but standard SES signing stays free.

What is the AI summary?+

Mistral analyses the contract text and highlights obligations, red flags, key dates, and a risk score. It's informational only — not legal advice.

What if the signer doesn't sign?+

The signing link expires after 30 days. The PDF is deleted and the pending record is removed. Signed documents are retained as a permanent audit trail.

eSeal is built by Stitched Logic, based in Turin, Italy. Signatures qualify as Simple Electronic Signatures (SES) under eIDAS Regulation (EU) 910/2014 — valid and admissible across all 27 EU member states. eSeal is not yet a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP).

Privacy policy

What we collect. Sender and signer name, email address, IP address, browser user agent, and a SHA-256 hash of the original document. Nothing else.

Legal basis. Processing is necessary to perform the signing service you requested — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

Retention. The PDF is encrypted at rest and deleted immediately after signing. Pending unsigned documents are deleted after 30 days. Signing records (names, emails, document hash, timestamp) are retained indefinitely as an audit trail for future signature validation.

Third parties. Emails are delivered via Resend (EU-compliant, Standard Contractual Clauses apply). This site uses Plausible Analytics — cookieless, no personal data collected. No other third parties receive your data. No cookies are set.

Infrastructure. All processing on EU servers only (Hostinger VPS, Lithuania).
